English
- Write a letter to a fairy godmother. What would you ask her to do?
- Write a letter to a fairy godmother from the point of view of a character in your favourite book.
- Use adjectives to write a paragraph that describes what a fairy godmother looks like.
- Pretend that you are the fairy godmother. Can you think of other ways that you might have helped the characters who wrote to her?
- Think of some fairy tale characters who are not mentioned in the book. Describe what their problem might be and think of a response that fairy godmother could give to help them.
- Write some instructions to teach people how to make gingerbread men.
- The giant writes his letter in upper case. Could you rewrite it using lowercase, joined-up handwriting?
- Write a diary entry from the point of view of the lonely giant.
- Write a new story about the giant and the boy after they become friends.
- Write the new version of the Hare and the Tortoise after the Fairy Godmother helps Tortoise.
- Write a letter from one of the characters to the fairy godmother to thank her for her help and explain how her advice changed things.
- Could you read some of the fairy tales mentioned in the story and perform them for an audience?
- Watch some of these trailers for animated versions of different fairytales. How do they compare to the original story?

- Look at the shapes of the picture frames. What shapes can you see? Could you draw some new picture frames with different shapes?
- Can you find any repeating patterns in the illustrations?
- Plan the party that the characters have at the end of the story. What food and drink will they need? How much might this cost?

- Little Red Riding Hood is told to wear camouflage to hide from the Big Bad Wolf. Which animals use camouflage to hide from predators?
- Plan a tasty new vegetarian meal for the troll to eat.

- Use art software to draw a scene from one of your favourite fairytales.
- Design a new stamp that is used when sending letters in the enchanted forest.
- Make an invitation to the party.
Design Technology
- Follow a recipe and make your own gingerbread man.
- Make a new page for a ‘lift the flap’ book.
- Design a new vehicle for the Three Little Pigs that would protect them from the Big Bad Wolf.

- Draw a new house for the fairy godmother.
- Design a dress for the fairy godmother.
