Cheetahs are the fastest runners on the planet. This film documents these amazing cats in a way that’s never been done before.

Watch this video with your children, and then try some of our teaching and activity ideas below.

Teaching Ideas and Resources:

English

  • Make a list of words that can be used to describe a cheetah.
  • Create a set of verbs and adverbs to describe how cheetahs run.
  • Think of some questions that you would ask a zookeeper about cheetahs.
  • Write a story about a cheetah.

Maths

  • Find out how fast cheetahs can run. Can you compare this to the running speeds of other animals and create some graphs / charts to show the data?

Science

  • Find out more about cheetahs using different reference materials and make a report about them.
  • Find out why cheetahs can run so fast. How is their body adapted to help them run quickly?

Computing

  • Could you make your own video of a friend running in a similar style to this one? Watch the video and compare the running style of a human with that of a cheetah.

Art

  • Pause the video and use the frames as the starting point for your own drawings of cheetahs running.
  • Look at the pattern on a cheetah’s fur. Could you try to paint a picture of this (and the fur of other animals)?

Geography

  • Where do cheetahs live in the wild? Can you plot their natural habitats on a map?

Physical education
