This is a great activity for you to do to increase children’s self-esteem.

What you need to do is:

  • Sellotape a piece of A4/A3 paper to every child’s back in the class
  • Ask the children to walk around the class and write a nice thing about each child on the paper.
  • The class must write a nice word on EVERY child’s back to ensure inclusion in the class.
  • When they have done so, they can take the piece of paper off their back and read the words written about them.

You can then discuss the feelings that went on while children were writing on their backs.

I have done this activity with my class, and they loved it, and it allows the less social children to join in and enjoy it.
