Minibeasts Fact Cards

This set of free resources includes twenty facts about different types of minibeasts. Did you know that a ladybird eats thousands of aphids during its lifetime? Did you know that one out of every four animals on Earth is a beetle?

Here are some ways that you can use the resources in the classroom:

  • Print the cards and add them to a classroom display about minibeasts.
  • Give each child in the class a fact card and ask them to share their fact with a partner. How many facts can your class remember when they have shared their fact with everyone?
  • Use the facts to make a poster about minibeasts.
  • At the end of each day, share a fact about minibeasts. Can your children remember the same fact the next morning?
  • Use the resources as part of guided reading activities.
  • Give children some reference material about insects and copies of the blank fact cards (including on the last page of the resource below). Can your class make their own fact cards about minibeasts?
