Myst IV - Improve the Instructions
In order to complete the Myst games, there are lots of steps which you need to complete. You might discover these by yourself (using the journals and other clues to help) or you could also use many of the walkthroughs available online.
Walkthroughs are simply sets of instructions which guide you through the game, helping you to complete the steps that are necessary in order to finish it. The children could create their own set of walkthrough instructions to help others complete part of the game. They could also follow an online walkthrough (or one created by a friend) and evaluate them. Were the instructions clear enough? Could any more details have been added to make them easier to follow?
You can download a basic set of instructions for one of the puzzles in Myst IV below. This shows you how to reach the ship on Haven. Could your pupils improve this basic set of instructions by adding more detail / connectives / diagrams / maps?
