Learning Names

Age Range: 5 - 7
By: Donna Robinson

Use the song 'Two little Dickie birds, one named Peter, one named Paul' changing the names to the names of the children.

For example:

'Two little Dickie birds sitting on a wall, one named Sophie, one named Sam, fly away Sophie, fly away Sam, come back Sophie, come back Sam.'

Start at the beginning of term and after a couple of weeks let the children shout out the names. Staff can also join in, so children can learn staff names.

The children love this.
