
The printable sheets below show the (fictional) results for six different Winter Olympics events. These could be used in Maths lessons in a number of ways:
- Show the pages and discuss how the winners of each event were chosen. Did they get the longest distance / shortest time / highest points total?
- Look at the units shown in each of the results pages. How were the athlete's achievements measured?
- Choose one of the sets of results and create a graph to show them. What kind of graph would be the best to use?
- Calculate the average distance / time / total for each set of results.
- Give children a copy of the 'combined' results and ask them to create a medal table for the competing countries. Who won the most gold / silver / bronze medals?
