Mind Mapping Topics

Age Range: 5 - 11

When starting a new block of work, ask children to make a mind map showing what they know, what they would like to know and how they would like to learn for each area that you will be teaching.

This is then kept in a STAR (Student Teacher Assessment Resource) folder and is traffic lighted as the work is completed. This allows pupil's voice to be recorded and as children complete this, it is a record that can be discussed and used in our learning profiles.

My P7 class last year completed with varying degrees of success so differentiation is also addressed. Management like this as it is easy to see how each child feels about their learning.
