Having just carried out work on the water lilies I have found a great way to get a monet effect is to use chalk in the pastel shades, then smudge!
The children love this and the effect is brilliant!

Children coloured in their own versions of a Monet haystack painting and these were made into a display.
This two week art project linked with our work on water in Geography. We looked at how water was represented in art, looking specifically at Monet and Hockney.
