Mental Maths Banners
If you're making a display about mental maths / calculations, save yourself some time by using our printable banners!
This activity is based upon my favourite show and it is a mental activity that focuses on whole numbers between 1-100.
The teacher chooses 2 children to stand in front of the board facing the class. The teacher writes a number betwen 1-100 on the board (both children should not be able to see it).
Then they take turns in guessing the number, after each guess the class must respond either 'higher' or 'lower'. The game continues until one person guesses the correct number.

A physical mental starter which gets children moving and helps them to learn their times tables too!

Maybe you could also introduce probability into the game. so if a child guesses 60 and it is higher then you can ask the class what the probability of finding the correct number is.
