Through the Hoop

Age Range: 5 - 11
By: A Visitor

Split the children into groups of about 10 then ask the groups to form circles.

Give each group a hoop and ask them to link hands placing the hoop in the circle over the arms of two of the children. The children then have to step through the hoop without unlinking hands.

The first team to get the hoop back to where it started wins.

Cheaters have to start again!

Can't understand the instructions about placing the hoop over 2 children's arms?

Hi Sue... sorry for the delay in replying.

Get all of the children in the group to link hands in a big circle and then ask one pair to unlink hands for a moment. This pair then link their hands again inside the hoop, so that it hangs from their arms. Hope that makes sense!

I play a similar game with the PE company I work for. Instead of just having one hulahoop you have 2, so the game is like tag "hula-hoop tag" The kids love it!
