Clothes

The photo resources below show different types of clothing and accessories. Here are some ideas for using them in the classroom:

  • Look at each type of clothing. Who might wear it? What part(s) of the body is it worn on? Why?
  • Think about the materials used in each type of clothing. Where do the materials come from?
  • Discuss how the clothing is made. Is it made by a person or a machine?
  • Look at the use of colours, shapes and patterns in the clothing.
  • Think about the function of the clothes. Are they intended to keep us warm / protect us / for fashion etc?
  • Write a review of the clothes for a fashion magazine.
  • Use the photos on a class display.
  • Use the pictures as a starting point for children to design their own clothing.
