The downloadable resource below includes forty printable labels. Each label shows the picture and name of a minibeast (and other invertebrates). Try using them in your lessons in some of the following ways. If you have any other ideas, please leave a comment to share them!
- Print the labels and use them to decorate your classroom.
- Print the labels but cut the text and pictures out separately. Can your children put them back together?
- Print two copies of the labels and use them to play ‘Pairs’ or ‘Snap’.
- Ask children to choose one of the minibeasts shown on the labels and find out more about it. Can they draw their own picture or make a poster about it?
- Put the minibeasts into alphabetical order.
- Working in pairs, one child could choose a minibeast and describe it to their partner. Can the partner guess which minibeast is being described?
- The minibeasts can be sorted into lots of different groups. Ask your class to think of different ways of sorting them.
