# Catch A Lot

Age Range: 5 - 11

In the nineteenth century, a fisherman teaches his son the family tradition of spermwhale hunting. Unfortunately, natural abilities sometimes skip a generation.

## Teaching Ideas and Resources:

• At the start of the film, have a discussion about who these characters are. Where did they come from? Where are they going?
• Retell the story from the point of view of the seagull.
• Pause the video at various points and think of speech / thought bubbles for the characters.
• Make some character profiles about the fisherman and his son.
• Make a list of words to describe the creature that they meet.
• Discuss what might happen next in the story.
