Ask pupils to make a list of questions that they can ask somebody else, e.g.
- What is your favourite colour?
- What pets do you have?
- What is your favourite food?
Then, get one child to come to the front of the class and answer those questions... they can answer truthfully or by lying. The other children have to work out if they are telling the truth or not.
Discuss the implications of this when reading information on the Internet / in emails / in text messages etc. Is it easy to tell when someone is telling the truth when talking face-to-face? Is it easy to tell if they have posted something online?
You could also discuss the importance of telling the truth yourself, but ensuring that you don't give away lots of personal information.
