Using the Music

The music and sound effects within the Myst games are extremely evocative and really help children to immersive themselves in the environments as they explore the game together.

As you look around the game, take a few moments to listen to the sounds that can be heard:

  • How does the music create a particular atmosphere?
  • Can you hear any particular instruments playing?
  • How does the music change as you move to a new location?
  • Can you hear any clues which might help you to solve a puzzle or discover something new?

You could also think about making your own soundtracks for the Myst (or other) games. What kind of atmosphere do you need to provide for the player? Which instruments would you use?
