Adjective Alphabet

Age Range: 7 - 11
By: Rhian Davies

This is a quick and easy lesson, to learn more about adjectives and meanings of words.

Use a worksheet, listed A-Z down the page. The children have to search / think of adjectives beginning with each letter of the alphabet in turn to create an 'adjective alphabet' to help when writing stories, descriptions etc...

Use dictionaries to check spelling and check that the words are adjectives. Have fun!

How about this? Give an adjective beginning with each letter of your name or nickname to describe who you are or what you want to be. This is very personal and kids are motivated to think and give encouraging words to describe themselves.. My Filipino pupils love this activity!
