Planet Characters

Age Range: 5 - 11
By: Marie Amey

After sharing planet facts with each other we discussed what one of the planets would look like if it were a human character. For example, for Pluto, the children came up with dark, icy, cold and mysterious.

They then each chose a planet and were given a bag of materials, ribbons, props, wigs and glasses etc.

Next they were given time to create their own costumes to represent their chosen planet as if it were a character. With some rehearsal time they then prepared a catwalk style fashion show, walking and posing in character before giving four facts to the audience about their chosen planet.

Their imaginations were fantastic, costumes were really well thought out, as were their poses. And I believe it really helped them to remember some of the facts and characteristics of the planets!
