Visual Cues to Stop Playing!
Subject: Music
(This idea was contributed by Kellie B)
Age Range: 5 to 11

When introducing instruments, use a visual cue to get the children to stop playing. For example, when I am working with instruments I tell the children that when I put my hands on my head, they must put their instrument on the floor in front of them and put their hands on their heads.

This means that you don't have to yell over top of them to stop!
