This idea has worked well with 5 year olds when there has been a few spare minutes to fill during the day.
I play various pieces of music (classical, jazz etc). The children are encouraged to suggest the mood of the music, do any actions they feel appropriate or to tell me pictures they see in their heads as the music plays.
Watch with amazement as your class turns into galloping horses, sleeping princesses, proud kings or swimming dolphins!
