Spider Spider

A brilliant game which helps children to revise their multiplication tables. Download it from the resources section below...

A variation for this activity has been suggested by a visitor...

I have used this game with great success with older primary pupils and multiplication tables, but adapted it in several ways with other groups.

1. Year ones enjoyed adding the numbers, deciding if they were odd or even. They could draw a body if their number was odd, a leg if their number was even and an eye if they had 7.

2. For pupils who needed to concentrate on 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 times tables, we used a 10 every time a 6 was thrown.

3. For higher ability/older pupils who needed 7, 8, 9, 10, etc. times tables, we used two different methods to extend the numbers - rolling each dice twice and adding the numbers or giving them dice with the required numbers on them.

Having these variations has enabled me to differentiate more appropriately in class.
