These questions may be used for the Question of the Day activity described here or the Instant Messaging activity described here. You can also make up some of your own. As well as improving general knowledge, the questions can also be used to reinforce work that you may be doing in school at the moment. All questions should be appropriate for the level and age of the children in your class (the following ones are mostly suitable for Key Stage 2).

11) Who wrote the book "The Witches"? Answer - Roald Dahl

12) What are the seven colours of the Rainbow? Answer - Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet

14) How many seconds are there in an hour? Answer - 360

15) How many minutes are there in a day? Answer - 1440

16) What does BC stand for? Answer - Before Christ

31) Why did the chicken cross the road? Answer - Numerous possible answers - give prizes to the funniest

32) What is the name of the lion cub in the Disney film, The Lion King? Answer - Simba

39) Spell "Rainbow" (not suitable for Question of the Day activity for obvious reasons!)
