This activity can be used first thing in the morning.
Write 6/7 words on the board taken from a child's dictionary. Get them to look up the word and write the definition. Words can be chosen to fit the childrens abilities.
If possible have a small book prepared for them to write it in. This can be time consuming in the making. Computers can also be set up for pupils to enter it into.
