Choose one child to draw on the large whiteboard. The teacher has a small whiteboard which the class can see.

The teacher draws a simple sketch (e.g. apple, lips, train etc) and gives simple instructions each step of the way for the volunteer to produce the same as the teacher's. Can they follow the instructions to produce something resembling your own?

Afterwards, the current artist becomes the one who gives instructions to another child of your choice.

This sounds tricky, but it isn't. The whole class enjoy the mayhem and the benefits are practise at giving and taking clear instructions.
