Estimation, Memory and Puzzle Ideas

Guessing / Estimation Games:
  • Celebrity Heads Smart Notebook File - Can two blind-folded children guess the people they represent on each Smart Notebook slide, by asking YES / NO questions only?
  • Where am I? - A fun guessing game, in which children have to identify their location (as represented by a picture of a place) which is hidden from their view!
  • Who am I? - Another guessing game, which involves good drama skills!
  • The Minute Game - A simple game in which children have to estimate the length of one minute.
  • Celebrity Heads - A fun game in which children have to guess the name of a person by only asking YES/NO questions.
Memory Games:
  • I Like to... - A fun memory game which also improves self-confidence, and helps children to understand that it is OK to like what you like.
  • Memory Game - Encourage children to work as a team, and develop their memories, using this simple idea.
  • Who's Missing? - An enjoyable game in which one child hides, and another has to guess who it is.
  • I went to the shops... - A traditional game which is great for developing memory.
  • The Minister's Cat - A fun filler game which develops vocabulary and use of adjectives too!
Puzzles and Problems:
  • Crack the Code! - A number of codes which children can crack (worksheet included).
  • Secret Code Sheet PDF File - Get your children to create their own secret codes and messages using this handy worksheet!
  • Rebus Puzzles - Children (and teachers) will love trying to work out the answers to these puzzles. They can even try to make their own. Includes loads of examples (with answers) to start you off, and activities to try in the classroom.
