Self Assessment Millipede
Topic: Classroom Management
(This idea was contributed by Linda Wann)
Age Range: 5 to 11

To promote self esteem and self assessment, my class have a millipede.

At the end of each week the children fill in a body section of something they have learnt in that week. The feet are coloured a different colour every week so that the children can see where each week begins and ends. At the end of the year each child gets their body parts back and they can see all what they have learnt throughout the year.

We named our millipede this year WALADS Which stands for We Are Learning About Different Subjects. The children came up with different suggestions and a vote was taken.
