(This idea was contributed by Sandra Stewart)
Age Range: 5 to 11

This is a quick way of assessing children's understanding of topics at the end of lessons.

Ask the children a question, and they have to answer it using words or pictures on a slip of paper. As they leave the room, they hand their paper to me.

I look over them later as I have time to see children's understanding, and to review who might need extra input.
