Skip Counting

This is a skip counting game. My students love it. I have them sit on their desks and have them skip count by 2s. They have the choice of saying 1 or 2 numbers. So, for example, the first person would say 2 or they can say 2, 4. If they say 2, the next person can say 4 or 4,6 and so on. The person who lands on 10 has to sit in their chair. You can do this with skip counting by 10s etc. or you can use this without skip counting. In Canada, we teach numbers in French, so I have done this as a French number learning exercise (if you land on 'dix' then you must take a seat).

When there are a handful of students left in the game, you can see the students become more strategic. They have a lot of fun with this exercise.
The last person left sitting on their desk wins!

Enjoy!
