Graphs:
  • Understanding Graphs - A visual (and extremely effective) way of helping children to understand line graphs.
  • Graph - Animal Names Smart Notebook File - A graph, designed for use as a discussion exercise for Year 1, but with potential for use with all age groups. Contributed by Lynn Medland.
  • Bar Graphs PDF File - A PDF file, created by David Hatchett, intended to support work in Year 5 on bar graphs.
  • Pictograms PDF File - A PDF, aimed at Year 3, asking children to interpret a given pictogram. Contributed by Kathryn Dennis.
  • Pie Charts Smart Notebook File - A SMART Notebook file which can be used to introduce children to pie charts.
  • Pie Chart Challenge - A useful activity sheet which guides children through the process of setting up a survey and then producing their results in the form of a pie chart.
  • Conversion Data PDF File - Use this conversion data when introducing children to conversion graphs. The task can be easily differentiated and can produce some interesting results!

  • The Sock Game - A simple activity which develops tallying, estimating, fractions and probability
  • Even Steven - A simple game involving addition, halving and probability.
  • The National Lottery PDF File - A set of PDF files containing investigations relating to the numbers which appear in the National Lottery. Contributed by Jim Landers.
