Minibeast Hunt

Contributed by:

Age Range: 5 to 11

This activity is good to use in the classroom or any spacious area available. I usually use the carpet area. It's a cross-curricular activity.

Let the children paint giant-sized tiny creatures - worms, caterpillars, ladybirds, ants etc. Use one of each and place them in strategic places on the carpet.

Get out the Roamer and ask children to program it to go to these creatures one by one. Children can be grouped into two groups or as teacher feels appropriate. If an accurate instruction is given, that group keeps the minibeast. An incorrect programming gives the opposite group a chance to win that creature. The group with most creatures wins the game.
