LOGO Worksheet
Subject: I.C.T.
Age Range: 5 to 11

The worksheet, which can be found here, consists of a set of LOGO instructions. The children should type them into the computer, look at the results of their instructions, and draw the resulting pictures into the spaces provided on the sheet. The correct diagrams are drawn below:

1) Square 2) S shape 3) Spiral 4) Rectangle 5) Octagon 6) Strange Tree Shape

When the children have finished this activity, they are encouraged to think about LOGO's repeat command, and how it can be used to reduce the amount of typing needed when creating pictures (in particular pictures 1, 4 and 5). You may wish to give them some guidance about this command beforehand, or they could be left to experiment for themselves.

The correct repeat instructions for pictures 1, 4 and 5 are as follows:

1) repeat 4 [ fd 50 rt 90 ]

4) repeat 2 [ fd 30 rt 90 fd 50 rt 90 ]

5) repeat 8 [ fd 20 rt 45 ]
