Follow the Time Trail
Subject: History
Age Range: 5 to 11

The following ideas are based on The Time Trail web-site which can be found by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page. The site is part of the Nettlesworth Primary School's site, and contains loads of very useful information about different periods in time. The Trail was created by the pupils of the school (with a little help from their teachers!) and makes excellent reference material for children to visit.

Here are some ideas showing how the site could be used:

1) Get your children to visit the site and use it to find out about different periods of time. They might focus on one specific section (e.g. Fun and Games in Roman times) or you might want them to research all of the information related to one period of time (e.g. the Aztecs). When the children have found out some information from the site, they could use this in a number of ways:

2) Ask the children to visit the site, looking for more specific information. You could, for example, give them a set of questions to answer while they are looking around the site.

3) The children could visit the site, and make their own set of questions (which they could then give to other children to answer).
