Roman Invasions
Subject: History
(This idea was contributed by Vanessa Hall)
Age Range: 7 to 11

These resources consist of two Powerpoint presentations:

Invasion 1 Powerpoint Presentation - Looks at the reasons for invading. After, some children had a sheet to fill in explaining why the Romans wanted some of the given items. More able children were asked, to write (as Caesar) to Rome asking the senate for permission to invade and giving good reasons for doing so.

Invasion 2 Powerpoint Presentation - Looks at the three invasions and what happened. Requires good dramatic delivery all through. As a task, the children had to either compare a picture of a Roman soldier / Celtic warrior and write about similarities and differences, or look at a sheet with pictures of Roman armour on and write about why the Roman army succeeded.
