(This idea was contributed by a visitor)
Age Range: 5 to 11

Cheap terracotta pots are broken and placed either in a large box of soil or buried in a section of school field.

Children then find pieces and try to fit them together. Thus showing how we have found out some facts about the Romans.

This could be extended to bury coins, wax tablets etc.

The children can then display their artefacts in a class museum.
