Where WAS Wally?
Subject: Literacy
(This idea was contributed by Hanna)
Age Range: 5 to 11

For children to practice using the past tense, photocopy a page from a 'Where's Wally?' book. The children can think of sentences that describe what different characters were doing at the time, e.g. Yesterday, I played music on my violin, etc. The kids loved this activity.

For the plenary, they read out their favourite sentences and the rest of the group had to guess which person on the picture it describes.
