Traffic Lights
Subject: Literacy
(This idea was contributed by Kerry McArdle)
Age Range: 5 to 7

I am a big fan of shared writing!

A really effective way of demonstrating where we need full stops and capital letters is to the use the 'Traffic Light' concept.

Green means 'go' which is when we use a capital letter to start a sentence, Red means 'stop' which is when we need a full stop.

I have a green pen and a red pen which the children can hold and they know when I need to use them.
