What is Genre Net?
This site contains information relating to the use of the computers (and in particular the internet) in the primary classroom. There are four sections:
Using Word Processors
Each section shows how that topic may be applied in the classroom, and also provides ideas for activities which you might want to use to teach your class about genre, using the internet.
Who is it for?
All primary teachers (and others who are involved in primary education) are welcome to use this site. We hope that you can gain ideas for lessons, your children learn a little more about different kinds of genre, and that it helps you (and consequently the children in your class) to become more confident in using technology.
Why was it created?
The site was created as a result of an English presentation as part of our university degree. It is intended to provide additional information to that which was given during the presentation, although people who did not see the presentation personally can still use the site.
Who created the site?
The site was created by Mark Warner and the content was contributed by:
Mark, Michele Papageorghiou, Sarah Speed and Sally Pearce.
We hope you find the site useful...
