I have a baby puppet named Croaker who is just learning his sounds and keeps on getting them wrong. Using a flashcard of either a word or a sound, Croaker has to whisper to me and I tell the children - he is usually wrong and the children thinks it's great and are really enthusiastic to tell him the correct sound.
This can be a very versatile way of teaching sounds, words and spelling of CVC words.
