This is a great idea for a shape and colour display at the beginning of the school year.
Make a Mr Men display board with the following 5 Mr Men on it:
- Mr Happy
- Mr Grumpy
- Mr Rush
- Mr Muddle
- Mr Strong
Underneath each character, Velcro on five shapes of the same colour as that Mr Man (1 circle, 1 square, 1 oval, 1 triangle and 1 rectangle all of various sizes).
The children can then take the shapes off and sort them into five groups (one for each Mr Man) either according to colour or according to shape. My class loved it and it was really well used independently.
