This is a quick activity for learning and remembering phonics. The class can make up their own sentence based on each letter, e.g. Ants on the apple, Balls are bouncing, Caterpillars crawling... Make up a little song using these sentences:

While you are singing, you could point to a letter a drawn on the board, or you could ask the children to "write" a letter a in the air with their fingers.
