Learning Letters
Subject: Early Years
(This idea was contributed by a visitor)
Age Range: Early Years

This is a quick activity for learning and remembering phonics.

The class can make up their own sentence based on each letter, e.g. Ants on the apple, Balls are bouncing, Caterpillars crawling...

Make up a little song using these sentences:

Ants on the apple a a a
Ants on the apple a a a
Ants on the apple a a a
We call it the letter A!

Balls are bouncing bbb...

Caterpillars crawling c c c...

While you are singing, you could point to a letter a drawn on the board, or you could ask the children to "write" a letter a in the air with their fingers.
