Cat and Mouse
Subject: Early Years
(This idea was contributed by Sandra Tjorpatzis)
Age Range: Early Years

This is a game called "Cat and Mouse".

Children sit in a circle. One child is chosen to be the cat, and another child is the mouse.

The Cat has to catch the mouse, and the mouse must run once around the circle, to where they were sitting.

Here is the chant the children will sing when Cat is chasing mouse (including actions of the Cat and Mouse):

"Little Mouse careful" (Both Cat and Mouse must walk slowly)

"Pussy Cat is coming" (walking is quicker)

"Quickly moussy run away, pussy cat wants a meal today (Cat and Mouse children must run).
