Shopping Bag Bases
Subject: Art
(This idea was contributed by Ann Nolan)
Age Range: 5 to 11

Don't throw away your plastic shopping bags!

Use them as the base for making fantastic tissue paper pictures. Lay the bag out flat and to make it easier to remove the tissue, smear them with a little petroleum jelly or something similar. The tissue is then torn or cut into the shapes you want to use and glued on with p.v.a. glue.

When dry, peel it off the bag and frame or put directly on to your windows for a stunning display.

I have used this technique for Autumn leaves and beautiful skies as a base for adding witches for Hallowe'en or Santa and his reindeer.
